Calling All Blender Meetup and User Groups –
Join us next Saturday, August 23rd for World Blender Meetup Day (WBMD): A single calendar day where Blender user groups around the world coordinate for physical and virtual Blender user group meetings. City groups can connect online together to introduce themselves and stream local meeting sessions recorded for later posting online. This grass-roots event leaves a lasting information resource the entire Blender community can use and helps break down our group geographic barriers.
On the day, each city group will connect their physical meeting location at their normal meeting time to voice, video, text chat, and desktop sharing (Windows/Mac only) using our shared web conferencing service. City coordinators are encouraged to schedule their meeting sessions using our WBMD online scheduling tool so we can post a schedule of the sessions on the day. If you lead or coordinate a local user group and can get two or more people together in a physical location, then join our WBMD city leads email group and ask for a Panelist account to introduce your group on the day (no sessions required). Visit the following page for all the details and to join the fun!

Is there one in Ottawa, Ontario?
I've not seen a Blender User/Meetup Group in Ottawa, so you should start one via this site: http://www.meetup.com/Blender/ If you can rally Blenderheads in Ottawa at a physical location on Sat, you are welcome to join via voice/video and introduce yourselves.
Hi, Ron! I've been looking into a Toronto or Ontario meet for a little while now. If you're still interested in a possible meet can you get in touch with me?
Why they are hosting to a streaming service that doesn't support linux??!!!
David from Theory Animation is likely rebroadcasting the stream via YouTube Live so all our Linux friends are welcome to join the fun

We'll have a YouTube broadcast going on at the same time :)
