Modeled this over the past few days, it comes with a very basic constraint based rig, but you might want to make it a bit more complex for doing any real animation. To render the file correctly you will need to place this HDR in the environment.
Enjoy :)

That linked HDR isn't actually an HDR, it's a JPEG.
I know, I was using it in the other since of the word. as in an environment texture. actually quite a few things are called HDRs. there's a photography style named that also.
There is another free high quality R2-D2 here (link below) that was originally created by InnovationByLayers (Jason McMains) in Autodesk Inventor that I PixelOz converted to Blender format and I also provide a link to an HDR picture that I used for the background but that one is a true HDR. There are also instructions in the accompanying PDFs as to how to place the free HDR back into the file once you download it.

And this link is a high quality Star Wars Dejarik Holochess Table (the 3D chess table in Hans Solo's Millennium Falcon sans creatures) that I created in Blender also free for you to download if you are interested (It also provides link and instructions for a background HDR image).

And again for those interested Star Wars Blender 3D models I also completed recently my second version of the Jedi Training Remote. This new version 2.0 of this other free Blender 3D model is virtually completely redone and it has a much higher polygonal resolution than the previous versions and many improvements in the measurements and proportions of parts plus a much better integrated mesh in all parts. You can read about all the improvements to the model in more detail in the accompanying PDF document. You can download that one here in Deviantart:

Like in the other two aforementioned models you also need to download the HDR environment texture but as before the addresses were to get the same free texture that I used are in the model's PDF document and there are instructions there on how to put it back into the scene. :)
