Brian Ericson is documenting the development of his game "Zombies Ate My Ice Cream" on BlenderArtists.

Brian Ericson writes:

This here is my game, Zombies Ate My Ice Cream. The zombie apocalypse has just happened and the hero has decided there's no better time than the present to go on his dream road trip across America. Fight zombies with your weaponized ice cream as your slow moving ice cream truck makes it to each location.

I want the blender community and others to be involved with this project. Help me decide where he should travel to, tell me what you think is missing from the game. I want to share my process so that everyone can make a game themselves using open source and free software.

All of the models, textures and animation have been created using Blender and Krita, and I'm using the free version of Unity for my game engine.

The game is aimed to release commercially for PS3, PC and mobile, but the methods and tutorials being released will be free. Everyone is welcome to give feedback and feel involved with the project through the Facebook page or BlenderArtist thread. My main goal is to show people what's possible with little to no budget.

You can follow the blender artist feed here, and follow the Facebook fan page here.

Without the hard work from Bender developers and a community that is so willing to help when you have a question, this game would not be possible. Thank you for everything you do.
