All the assets in the free Windows/Windows Phone game 'Just Hot Air' were created in Blender.

Hi friends of Blender,

I am the artist of "Just Hot Air" and proud to proclaim, that all assets for our app where created with Blender, Gimp and Inkscape. It is a simple golf-styled game with little creatures and was released at January in both Windows and Windows Phone Store. Android version and more levels are in development.

As said, models and levels were entirely created in Blender. All models are in their own .blend files and composed with a mix of links and proxies to whole levels. Lightmap-baking is also done in Blender by using a self-written script, that saves all objects' lightmaps to output files. Levels and lightmaps are then used in our programmers self-written 3D-engine. Watch our trailer, check out the attached image and have fun testing our game. The current version with two creatures and 21 levels is free and without ads ;)

  1. I'm curious as to why your initial release is only for Win8/Phone, instead of Win7/Android, especially as not many people are using them.. Is it simply easier to develop for, or are they your platforms of choice?
