tweedee writes:

The Apple Macintosh is officially 30 years old. I took the opportunity to model it in low poly isometric 3D. Modeled and baked in Blender. See the full render here.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Whoa, I didn't realize that Apple is approximately the same age as GNU.

GNU celebrated its 30th anniversary last September.

GNU and Apple make an interesting juxtaposition. GNU is a symbol of software users' freedom/"open source" and Apple has become the very opposite -- it has become one of the world's biggest enemies of users' freedom/"open source".
