Reconstruction of the Iberian Temple of Illeta dels Banyets (Alicante, Spain)

3

Pablo Aparicio Resco has reconstructed an ancient temple in Blender.

Pablo writes:

This is a 3D archaeological reconstruction of an Iberian Temple (Temple A) discovered on the site of Illeta dels Banyets (Alicante, Spain). The reconstruction was made from AutoCad 2D planimetry just imported to Blender and is based on the evidences found at the site during its excavation. I wanted to give it an appearance of videogame but keeping the details of realism (correct measures, colors of different plasters found during the dig, etc.). The use of Cycles and a correct use of lights and textures help me to give the sensation that i looked for. All the textures have been modified with the texture-painting tool to join them completely with the scene.

You can find more information (in Spanish) on my webpage.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
