Learn some basic computer graphics maths with this YouTube Series

Computerphile is an awesome YouTube channel that covers all kinds of basic software issues (I waste way too much time there). In their latest series, graphics programmer John Chapman explains some basic computer graphics topics like representing objects with triangles, transforming them into the right view, converting triangles in to pixels and z-sorting. I recommend it to every Blender user, to get you some insight in to what's going on inside Blender!

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-)

  1. This is awesome! I am conducting a 1-Month CG workshop starting next week, in which I aim to cover at least the important CG concepts (using blender, of course.). This series should prove really helpful for the students!

  2. He did a pretty nice job of explaining all this stuff, but of the computerphile videos, I actually think those are some of the worst. Which is still great - their quality is really high - but if you enjoyed these, I'd recommend watching all the Computerphiles. And I'm sure there will be more on the topic
