p3d.in Updated with New Features

3

3D File embedding service p3d.in has released a nice update to their service, including an X-Ray view.

Daniel Salazar writes:

p3d.in's latest update makes it easier to upload and setup your 3D models and materials to be shared on the web. It also adds 2 new embed options and an improved x-ray shader designed to inspect complex mechanical objects. All the art in the redesigned front page and UI is done in Blender + Cycles

Automatic Materials + Drag & Drop:

Quick Material Editing (Heck! Blender should get this!)

  1. (Heck! Blender should get this!)

please don't start over a new UI discussion; blender is perfect as it is; all those clicky-clicky-interfaces are toys for little children but nothing for real 3D artists; 3D modelling is an art and it must be complicated, it always has been

    • a) They were talking about the new feature, not a new UI design.

      b) No, Blender isn't perfect. It's stable enough to use, but even its current UI design could be refined, if not just with some more consistency across icons alone.

      c) Any art is not particularly about complication. It's about the result. True, it's not something you can just do from not putting the time and effort into it, like anything else in life, but it's not about how complicated it is that makes it an art.
