Short Film "What Birds Dream Of"

By James Seymon.

James writes:

I wanted to share my latest short film, which just won several awards at the Monash Youth Film Festival in Victoria, Australia, including Best Film, Best Actress and Audience Choice in the Open category. Modelling, Animation and most of the Compositing was done in Blender and rendered with Blender Cycles. The overall Colour Grading was also done in Blender.

  1. Very nicely done, but unless they were sponsoring you, putting in stuff like "shot with Canon cameras" and "made with Blender" is rather fanboy-ish. Kinda like when people say "made with a Mac". Rather silly really. Nobody gives a crap about stuff that, they're (hopefully) just interested with the end result.

Still, very nice work, in and of itself. :-)

  2. I do not think it is Fan Boyish at all. He is simply informing us on what he used. I personally like to know which software or hardware was used on projects. It is informative. Someone may see this and say "Oh, that was done with Blender? Wow, cool." Maybe I will go download it and try it out.
