Creating a Realistic Street

4

tutorial

It seems that rainy scenes are in fashion this week :) Here's a new tutorial by Blender Pedia.

Rob tuytel writes:

It's one of the most underestimated things when you create an environment scene.' Street modeling' Over the years I spend a lot of time on different variations, and they all have their good and bad points.

In this tutorial I'm learning you the perfect way of realistic street modeling, but you have to spent some time on it to reach this effect.

  1. Nice tutorial. Thank you.

For my own, I also use a lot objects modelled in detail instead of only textures, but generaly for stones I create the stones separately with their own texture and put them on a floor with an other texture with grass and moss, and add some details after in the joints like short real grass blades or small flowers, leaves and pebbles.

In the past, I made (with Blender 2.49b) a setup named stones factory, to create easily tons of different stones. I haven't used it recently, but I think that you could easily convert it to Blender 2.6x.
