Use of Blender at Georg-Simon-Ohm University, Nuremberg

Hello fellow Blenderheads,

today I’d like to present you the use of Blender at our university. I’m a student and during the last semester me and my colleagues participated in the “Computer Graphics with OpenGL” course at the Georg-Simon-Ohm university in Nuremberg, Germany.

I was always interested in teaching Blender. Luckily, my professor gave me the awesome opportunity to establish a seminar to support the CG lecture and teach students how to use Blender for a final semester project. My goal was to encourage the students to show off Blenders capabilities a little more than the preceding semester (Results from winter 2011/2012).

The students have been split up into three groups and I was in charge to support them as best as I can. You can see their results here:

Unfortunately, not all final videos have been uploaded yet. Hopefully you can make up your own opinion looking at the making of’s above (note: some texts are in German).

I just uploaded the one from my group some minutes ago, to show you at least where our group was heading with our project:

Please note that the students didn’t get any credit points for working on the animations – the results you see, have been made just for fun. Furthermore, the students had to learn for other subjects / courses as well and created those animations in their spare time (which was quite rare…).

I believe the students really did a great job!
This is my way to contribute to the Blender Community – thanks a lot devs, BF and you Blenderheads! :)
