I've been working on creating an UberShader in the form of a node group until one is officially added into trunk by Brecht in the next few months. It is based on the Standard shader from Arnold with some tweaks where necessary, and some cool options in the Glass shader for faking caustic and shadow effects without additional processing time.
Included in the post is a full user guide that I'll be updating with pictures and additional info as I can get it ready.
