Winner: SK with his collapsing bridge. This was by far the most 'complete' entry - not just a tech demo, but a short video with a 'story' and nice sound. Good job!
Read on for the runners up.
Daniel Kreuter's video was the only one that combined different materials:
PyroEvil wrote his own 'Molecular Physics' script. Check out his other videos as well!
Akože-čože Že-fúha Že-ä Matúš would win just with a name like that, but I really liked the editing and music:
Lucas823's video has a nice combination with live footage. And who can resist a Suzanne?
That was fun, thanks for participating everyone!

Nice job guys!!!
Okay, now who's going to clean up?
... clean up during all the weekend for me .... 200 000particles :-(
I hope someday BI will hire you!
like janitor to clean up? ;-)
btw, I worked as a janitor while studying in the university (that were some "crews" of students to clean streets and houses). So... personally I'm ready to work like a janitor there in BI :D If I'll be having abilities to see what's there, to talk with guys and Ton. A work must be pleasuring you.
I talking about cleaning and janitor for the first comment from onjoFilms about "who's going to clean-up" :-) .Yes , it's can be a great opportunity to work in BI. Some time I thinking about giving my name for one of the next open movie project to trying to giving a bit of my touch and my experiences. But I have a house , a family and a good job in Vfx at Ubisoft Montreal. I don't know if they take freelance that working from home. Btw , I hope you can do what you dream about and get a place at BI. :)
Hmm, I don't remember that movie :)
Of course if you're happy with your job and family life then it can't be ruined just for "being closer" to BI :D
Everybody choose his/her own path.
Personally, I prefer Kreuter's video to that with the bridge; The collapsing bridge, while ambitious, doesn't look quite realistic, more like a pre-render or sth. And the sound is slightly out of phase.
Yeah, there were a lot of pieces that went underground in the bridge scene
I hope that Blender will get some sound improvements. So we will be able to set different random sounds for hits then it's values, positions and echoes will be calculating automatically. Maybe some papers on this theme exists... who knows?
Yeah, the asphalt had almost no friction. It looked like it was slapped together.
I prefer Akože-čože Že-fúha Že-ä Matúš's video much more than the bridge's destruction. It's informative, shows all simple cases. It's like a reclame to this new feature :)
"Bridge's story" is good but it has no sense. Suddenly the bridge breaks apart... Why? And why the asphalt is so slick that has so low friction? It's a great example with a lot of small mistakes. So this is why I don't think it deserves 1st place. Apologize to SK - it's not a blame, just IMHO.
Did you choose the ugliest video on purpose or is it just trolling ?
I prefer PyroEvil. It's not a real "object break" but it seems more natural than others and I hope this script developing will go on. Unfortunately the new fracture add-on does not dynamic breaks, so animation will look a little realistic only in some cases (fast collisions/animations and when almost the entire object is involved in breaking. Anyway hope future developing will make it more and more realistic and dynamic.
PyroEvil is cool indeed! But it's another theme, another sim.
As I heard it's possible to do sequential breaks... maybe with BGE or/and with Destructability addon http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?247559-WIP-Blender-Destructability-Editor
I would love to see a little making of on Daniels Video (Not a whole tutorial, but just a little overview with the basic setup maybe?
I think Pyroevils the best, he didnt only use existing script to make his video, he did actually take it further into almost digital matter.
All of the entries are good in my opinion but if I had to chose, the collapsing bridge gets my vote! its ambitious and creative. It my not have fancy rendered textures or story but thats kind of not the point. I've seen enough broken walls and shattered vases. I also like PyroEvil, because he went the extra mile, and its just awesome!
I agree with the comments so far, strange choice the bridge is definitely the less convincing imho.
Almost forgetting... but nonetheless good job everyone!!
Lucas823′s to me is the winner, but either way is nice to see more blender works
Good job for all videos. I like the
Akože-čože Že-fúha Že-ä Matúš , a lot of job here with editing. A lot of simulation too.
My favorite is Daniel Kreuter’s 3 layer wall for realism.
I know it's just a test, but here's my nitpicks: The bricks seemed to
fall a bit slow. (scale everything down a bit.) and could use a subtle
dust or smoke for how sheetrock turns to powder. Example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMPbIGnmRic
The fast spinning around made it hard to watch; the spinning background is especially distracting.
The camera could be closer and still, (or slowly moving,) then repeat from a couple more angles.
It would make it more realistic too. (A camera man isn't going to spin
a pirfect 360, he's going to focus on the interesting parts and react
to the action- perhaps jump a bit when the wall explodes.)
Nice work everybody!
"Perhaps soon we'll have a way for the bigger chunks to break into smaller ones..." Well... I think we have it already. It's name is "recursion". I remember it from that Cell Fraction tutorial.

I'm also liking PyroEvil's engine. And the bridge breaking, except concrete would turn to dust some too. Perhaps soon we'll have a way for the bigger chunks to break into smaller ones...

Lucas823′s is the winner for me also. Everyone's done a pretty good job but I like Lucas823′s camera movement as Susan goes through the hole ^^. Good job to everyone though as I thought everything looked pretty sweet no matter what ;-)
how about this one: http://youtu.be/fsphwrbSAdU or this one http://youtu.be/kLCydSJ4KGU
Akože-čože Že-fúha Že-ä Matúš... I think overdid the camera shake. It makes one a lil dizzy and have to readjust focus with each shake. My advice to you and all camera-shake lovers, be subtle!
Besides all that, I like yours and SK's
PyroEvil's should have won by far...
