Workshop 'Introduction to CG techniques for architectural visualization', Brussels, July 9

3

A full-day workshop in Brussels, Belgium on July 9th.

Stephane Huart writes:

July 9th – 13th, a 30 hours Blender workshop will be housed by the Polytechnic School of Brussels, ULB.

While the workshop is geared towards architects and students in architecture, everyone looking for an introduction to Blender is welcome.

The first part of the workshop will consist of an introduction to the basics of modeling and texturing in Blender while more advanced topics like particles, cycles engine and composting will be the focus of the second part.

The goal of this week is to go through the different steps of producing an architectural walk-trough and understand the concepts behind each step.

Practical exercises exemplifying the concepts seen in the mornings will cover a large range of use cases such as object modeling, landscape creation (with trees and grass), UV-mapping or material design. These exercises are conceived to offer gradual difficulty and can be tackled independently. The last day of the workshop will be dedicated to a wrap-up where all assets produced earlier in the week will be reused in one large and more personal project.

Topics :

  • Blender UI
  • Modeling tools
  • Materials (Blender Internal and Cycles shaders, textures and UV mapping)
  • Landscape creation with sculpt tools and real world data
  • Particles
  • Simple Animations
  • Lighting and rendering
  • Compositing

The theory will be taught in French but the practical exercises will be assisted in French or English on a per person basis.

  1.  Sounds like just what I need. Shame I cant make it to Brussels, or speak French.
Any chance the course might be streamed or available online later?
