I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

Pretty nice! He should re-render some of these in Cycles - I'm sure it'd make them look absolutely brilliant.

I noticed in a few shots that he used the old Blender Radiosity system.

    •  I'm planning to render my next animation on cycles, keep tuned, for the radiosity system, I guess you're talking about the hospital sequence, it's done with the GI ambient occlusion of the sintel render branch !!!

"Hopital Mendes" :)   I wasn't sure before I saw this here in text like "Hospital".
It's pretty cool for one man! BTW I saw some good tropical trees models... don't remember exactly where... blends for sure.
I liked some close scene (like some night time in yacht club) and mostly all at bird's flight.

  2. Well Done.  Are the people in your scenes a png images on a plain with a billboard effect?  How do you get the plain to follow the camera?   Nice work!

    • yes simple planes with png textures, to make them follow the camera, create an "empty" object, select all the planes and last select the "empty" object, then press "Ctrl + T" > "lock track constraint" , just make sure that your planes have their Z axis turned to top, (when you create a plane > enter edit mode, and rotate 90° from x axis), finally parent the empty to your camera, for multiple cameras you can use multiple "child of" constraints applied to the empty...

    •  you're right !,but I don't see the problem on the original video, it looks like it happens on the vimeo encoding process, the orginal video was edited and encoded on Kdenlive (rendered with vimeo hd profile !) any advice ?
