I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Nice, but the actual hardware setup looks extremely inefficient,...
nearty $900 worth of beagle boards, doing the job of $180 worth of graphics cards....

you could build a wall nearly 4x the size for the same price...

  2. Tobias Jakobs on

I'd like to see Sintel in the Planetarium here in Münster(Germany) . They have 6 4K Projectors. That is real HD. :)

  3. Funny how I could do the same thing with just one of my desktops graphics cards (assuming I had the monitors)

    still neat to watch. :D

  4. This kind of setup with the little ARM systems is quite nice to do demos on location with! Here's a pic of our not-so-mobile setup, the new Collaboratorium at SARA (Amsterdam), consisting of 8 FullHD thin-bezel screens. It shows Big Buck Bunny playing in 1080p and Sintel in 4k, side by side. Servers are Linux-based, btw.
