Blender Production Essentials Webinar Now Online

3

Last week, 3D Buzz hosted a free webinar as an introduction to their upcoming 6-week Blender training. This webinar is now available for download.

It's over 150MB to download (and you'll need to un-RAR it) but that'll get you an introduction to Blender of almost three hours. Not bad!

In addition, 3D buzz has now published the full outline of the upcoming training (which starts on March the 3rd).

Zak Parrish writes:

I just wanted to let you know that 3D Buzz has released the full syllabus for the Blender 101 Live Online Class. It IS a Member Sponsor exclusive offering, which means that to attend, folks would need to be subscribers to our site ($35/mo.).

Check it out.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. This was cool, I watched it the other day, v good!(Zak is a Maya/photoshop/blender/unity/udk master)
Also there is the blender introduction videos, which are by far the most comprehensive tour of the blender 2.5x interface and functionality that I think exists(check it out and I'm sure you would agree!) all free to download!
3d buzz is really an excellent site
p.s. there is also the model and texture a cartoon style "bananna man" character tutorial, just a great resource.

I'm a recent Blender noob and I watched this tutorial today, pausing and rewinding it numerous times to get the most out of it, and doing the examples on my Blender install. I learned an enormous amount about how to work in Blender and feel a lot more confident now. There's quite a long intro (about 20 minutes) before it really gets going, but it's worth it :)  It's 2:45 in total... I probably added 1 hour to that with the hands-on activity.
