Alexander Weide shares this image, which includes the full .blend file.

The last days where wonderfull for me. I switch my whole Renderpipeline from Houdini to Blender. I can use it now in most cases. It is very stable as fast as possible and a big step into the future. The Cycles render engine is raising the bar so much the Compositing Pipeline is production proofen from my point of view.

The remake and interpretation of the Polar Express picture was a large test of the whole Render pipeline, Asset management and a way to share all the data and all the files to say thank you to my Facebook Fellows and to say thank you to all the support of Blendernation. I made the picture exclusivly for the community so i share everything the whole project via Blendswap. It is uploaded and i'm hopefully it will be accept by Blendswap in the next hours.

I wish a Merry Christmas and happy new Year to all Blender Users around the world and thank for criticism, suggestions and support in the community.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Looks beautiful. You've really got the feel of the snow and ice in a magical scene. The smoke from the trains chimney looks like the train is till, but other than that, I love it! Thanks for sharing the file with the community!

  2. looks good, it makes me think though it would be nice if they remade polar express, maybe as a 45 minute movie. It has a lot of bulk that takes away from the simplicity that is in the story book, plus the "animation" in the polar express is not good, very stiff, very motion capture.
