“Keyframe” at the “Fête des lumières”, Lyon

Hello Blender world. It’s time for me to talk about “keyframe” project now. We are on this project till about 3 years now with the “groupe Laps” based in Montreuil (France). This project’ll be present at the “fête des lumieres” in Lyon this year, Place de la République. This project is “chronophotography” based. Most of the study and research and simulation are done
with my beloved Blender.

What’s it about?

“Keyframes” are Led’s tube characters (about 60). (I mean real objects in real life). Those characters are posed in space and are set up with wrench (8mm). The led’s circle on the head suround a speaker. All this mess is connected via dmx to switch on or off the light tubes.(fading too, of course).

The Pipeline

“Live” is sending midi messages to “WhiteCat” who send via Artnet protocole, dmx messages to the game engine.
Blender is used to previsualise the light programation and setting up the character’s posing.

(Sorry for the ugly animation and render done in three days)
