Manuel L akaJimmyon posted a new tutorial demonstrating how to build a wirenet for a microphone with Blender 2.5. It makes extensive use of the array and curve deform modifiers.
Manual writes:
Because it was requested a lot i did a tutorial how i created the wirenet for my microphone. I took a lot of patience into this and wrote it really detailed and well described, so that also beginners can learn from this very easily.

Great!
this is fantastic, I was looking for something like this
heck, the image alone is all you really need to figure it out. Very intuitive and well done image. Thanks! ;)
thats why I made the image ;)
Thanks for the featuring :)
One thing, could you please correct my name? It says "Manual writes" ;)
Very cool and illustrative of the power of the array.
Thanks Manuel.
Clicking on an image to make it bigger, but it only gets smaller is not nice to your visitors. :(
@somebody:
I second that!
@troubled Haha, I thought the exact same! Although to be fair I've done very similar stuff to this in the past, like making rope
It was not so easy for me, but it was a good exercise.
Does anyone know how I put my picture on the wirenet ? There are so many texture settings.
Oh! Really awesome job!
Easy to follow, sweet and simple. Thanks for this, just what I needed.
Just what I wanted. Thx
