Ott Planetarium to Host Blender Workshops for Planetarium Professionals - June 2011

The Ott Planetarium at Weber State University will host a two part workshop for planetarium professionals this June.

Introduction to Planetarium Production with Blender 2.5x
June 21-25, 2011

The intro class will collaborate on an open-source planetarium show. In a few short days, participants will learn the Blender Interface, Modeling, Animation, Materials, Textures, Modifiers, Animation Curves, the Video Sequence Editor and more. In the end, participants will receive a copy of the movie, along with its source files.

USD 600, No Prerequisites.

Advanced Planetarium Production with Blender 2.5x
June 26-30, 2011

During the first half of advanced classes, we will introduce Blender's advanced tools: particle systems, compositing, fluid dynamics simulation, physics simulation, and game engine logic. During the second half we'll help participants tackle their own special effects projects.

USD 800, Intro Workshop or Equivalent Skills Required

Attend both workshops for a USD 200 discount (Total: USD 1200).
