Over the last three years, 56 BlenderNation members have been quietly providing micro loans through our BlenderNation Kiva Team - so far, we've loaned a staggering $11,600! Won't you join us?

- Find someone who you would like to lend $25 (or more) to.
- Assign this loan to the BlenderNation team,

I've been loaning for about a year now, but I didn't know BlenderNation had a team. I just joined the team.
Just so everyone knows -- you can still join a team after you have made loans. Joining the team before loaning gives the team credit on your first loan (so if you're new, you should join the team first.)

I started with Blender Nation team, then joined Late Loaning Lender, and finally Poverty2Prosperity (?) team. It just like forum, I tend to be with the one that is active :-)
But I still lend under BN there and then.

Absolutely a brilliant thing. After reading about this there was no question about joining. Much better than giving some money to organisations that you have no idea what will do with the money if they manage to get the money where they were supposed to go.
Also making it possible to sign in with facebook an use paypal made it even easier. Thanks a lot for this link and I'v passed this on to my friends that have also joined (though not the blendernation team) and given gift cards. I think I will even use this as a birthday presents in the future.
Absolut eine glänzende Sache. Nach der Lektüre über diesen war es keine Frage über den Beitritt. Viel besser als geben etwas Geld, um Organisationen, die Sie haben keine Ahnung, was mit dem Geld machen wird, wenn sie das Geld, wo sie eigentlich gehen sollten erhalten verwalten. Auch macht es möglich, sich mit Facebook unterzeichnen eine Verwendung paypal noch leichter gemacht. Vielen Dank für diesen Link und I'v übergeben diese an meine Freunde, die ebenfalls beigetreten sind (wenn auch nicht die blendernation Team) und Geschenkkarten gegeben. Ich denke, ich werde auch dies als Geburtstagsgeschenk in die Zukunft.
I switched my default team from Team America to BlenderNation a few months ago. Micro-finance is a wonderful concept and I would encourage anyone to get involved.
I'm confused. So if it's a loan, do you get your money back? And is there interest?
@roofoo: there's some risk involved - you'll get your money back 99% of the time, but sometimes a loan may go wrong. There's no interest.
