kowengroup writes:

iKeyMaster-Blender3D is a neat tool to have on-hand while working with Blender3D! It contains the entire set of the latest Blender3D 2.5x Keyboard commands instantly available at your fingertips. Just tap iKeyMaster-Blender to launch the latest keyboard commands reference set, Tutorial links and full-size Keyboard maps!

You can browse the Keyboard Commands by Group or use the Search feature. For example, enter "Extrude" and all Keyboard references related to Extrude will be displayed. Very fast, very simple and very convenient! The Group view includes a direct link to Blender Video Tutorials on YouTube related to that Blender topic! Very handy when you need a quick review of a particular function in Blender. Video Tutorials are one tap away and play right on iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad!

iKeyMaster-Blender3D also includes a full-size, color-coded Blender 2.5 Keyboard Map. Just tap a couple of buttons and a PDF Keyboard Map is sent to your Email address for printing or viewing! We have included a Blank Keyboard Map as well if you have re-mapped the Blender 2.5 keys to your own preference. Just print it and fill in the blanks with your custom keyboard commands.

Blender 2.5 is still in beta as of this release but the latest Keyboard Commands available to us have been included in the App. Upon the final release of Blender 2.5x, additional command keys will immediately be added or updated to iKeyMaster-Blender3D if new keyboard commands have been added.

  1. I'm so retarded and incapable to use the "space" button in blender, that I need a payed app on my iPhone/iToutch every bloody time I'm going to use blender.

  2. Seriously, why would I want to pay 2$ for a LIST on my imaginary iPhone which is included in Blender anyway? People will really buy anything if it's an app...

  3. @Excyis

No need to scorn at something like this. The space key search is useful, but it doesn't show commands grouped like this app does. You have to have some idea of what the command is called to use the space menu.

  4. Seriously (?)
I can remember Andrew Price already made a keyboard shortcut pdf-document (which you could use on your idevice as well...)
Not all of them - but the most important shortcuts I think.

Anyways, who would really pay 2$ for that app?
btw. Shift+A isn't that new - It already was in former (2.4x fe.) versions.

  5. What a pointless waste of time! If you're sitting in front of your big computer monitor using Blender, why would you want to squint at a silly little iPhone screen? I guess this app is for those saddos who position their i[diot]Phone prominently on their desk, desperately trying to think of something useful that might justify its exorbitant running costs.

  6. It does look well designed and thought out. It's only two dollars guys, take it easy! I spend more on one milk shake for crying out load. Cut the guy some slack. It's a blender reference app that would be fine blender users. My 3DMax neighbor was foaming at the mouth wanting a 3DMax version of this app. They sell books on blender too for $30+ and I own about 3 of those. I need all the reference help I can get. I bought the app, very well done and works as advertised.

  7. Thanks! This is really well done. I can see how this might seem a little frivolous for someone who's already an expert at blender, but I am still learning and this is really, really helpful.

  8. You're either learning the commands from a tutorial (in which case, write them down), or you've used the commands and shortcuts more than 10 times each and already have it basically memorized. And if you're learning, having to switch to another computer and picking it up and then scan through the app doesn't seem as practical, especially if it impedes on your motivation to learn keyboard accelerators and become proficient faster. That's what makes it being 2$ so expensive. Plus if you're helping a newb on a forum, you can't say "check out this pdf that's online", you'd have to say "BUY this app for this free software".

  9. Just press ctrl+alt+u and go to the input tab. There, you have a complete list of bindings, all sorted out nicely. There's no need to move your hands, and look at something else to see what blender's commands are. Why spend $2 on something so counter-productive?

  10. It is funny! Everybody wants Blender to spread to everywhere or make money with it and when it happens, some people just disapprove it. Like we saw on Andrew survey, not all of we are hobbyist. There is some of us making money and I'm pretty happy with it. IMHO, I think is better to see Blender helping pay my bills than me needing to work in something else to then be able to use Blender.

Ok, so let's do a real review about it :
I bought it for 2 reasons: First, to see and make a real evaluation about it and Second (my own review) and to show off to my Friends a Blender app on my iPhone! lol

    Pros
    - The way it is organized is really good, I like it. Simple and fast to look at.
    - There is buttons to easily find a video tutorial on Youtube.

    Cons
    - I miss some keys, like in sculpt mode. I never check all of it, but sculpt area was the most poor.
    - The Youtube Video search is a little bit to generic. It could have more specific tutorials for such hot keys, cause a hotkey is an action, so lets show something about it.
    - The Search is not so good. I try to search words like Sculpt or Rigging and it returns empty.
    - I could be able to have and open the keyboard layout on iPhone. For now it is a poor extra.

    Bottmline
The idea about it is pretty good, but it is not a real 1.0 version for me.
It could bring more information or better, link to the Blender Wiki! That could be a cracker! Or even a index of wiki, BlenderCookie, BlenderGuru. To have a feed for those kind of news.

    Cheerios

  11. Whenever I hear someone whining about someone charging for something related to Blender I want to smack them. It looks like a well designed app, and if I was a beginner Blender user I'd probably spend the 2 bucks to get it. I mean, seriously, coffee costs more than this app does.

  12. Then again - if you're using Blender because you can't afford Maya, then $2 is a little over the top, when you consider there's a lot of apps out there for $1 that are much more than just a reference guide. Albeit - a very well laid out reference guide. (yes, I will be buying it).

What about upgrades? Will you be upgrading it as Blender continues to grow? That's why I need this app in the first place.

  13. C'mon dudes :D We are talking about $2 :D

There are a lot of stupid apps in the AppStore.
I don't think that this is, one of these ;)

I'm sure that the developer will make great updates and upgrades for this app. Give him a chance ;)

There are a lot of people that would buy the shoes used and consumed form Madonna for $100.000.000......and they are the same shoes that you can buy in the store near your granma for $20 :D

I think that Blender is better than Madonna.....so.....why don't buy a "geek app" just to have it?

Did you get the idea? ;)

The app is whorty for real Blender fanatics ;)
