Welcome to my world...

What happens to all those Christmas decorations which disappear so quickly after the holidays?
Many people throw them out because they will be outdated next year...
Fortunately an old (also discarded) robot, living in the sewers under the City, gets some to decorate it's little universe...
This week's art submission is by Riton, featuring a discarded old robot as he tries to make light of his world. Modeled in Blender and rendered in Yafaray, Riton's robot wishes to welcome you to it's world.

  1. Something being the *stupidest* thing you've ever heard? That's one of the more stupid things I've heard today. :P <cough>

Indeed, it is a very nice composition; I'm glad that Riton has also given a node setup diagram, to help future artists achieve a similar effect.

    Very nice, and thank you.

  2. That is waaay tooo sweet . My mom holds on to ,all her Christmas ornaments . She almost made fix one of those little tiny cheap out light bulb . It was so cheap all were connected in serial fashion (saving cable cost vs parallel connection) Man I went through bulb by bulb .well , That robot must have fixed it !
    Yeah .

  3. I'd like for you all to meet my ex-girlfriend, a person that throws away Christmas decorations because she won't be using them the next year. Then tells her that's the stupidest idea that you've ever heard too.

  4. Men you should gather a team and do a short animation out of this, the character is amazing, the textures are too, the concept about the christmas "trash" is very creative and intresting, that further developed can make one hell of a story.

And you also should do a texturing this character tutorial, because is great texturing, and there are no good and developed texturing tutorials, not even in english, so guess in spanish (my native language).

Bye and think about the short film, im sure it would be a great thing.
