I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

unfortunately, this topic isn't of particular interest to me, but i definitely look forward to more events centering around Blender to pop up around these here parts ;)

  3. Hey, I live in the fifth largest city in America (Phoenix). How come there is cool stuff like this in Arkansas, but not here?

Ok, venting over. Awesome to see this stuff going on anywhere.

  4. Tallguy, put one together and have it Phoenix.... I am sure lots of people will attend.

Brian, if the event is being held in your town, then definitely go. If for no other reason, you will meet people and you always walk away with some new ideas and such.

  5. Brian,

Blender has definitely arrived in Conway. Scott Meador has told me that he's going to be teaching a course in 3D animation using Blender at University of Central Arkansas. He wanted me to get the word out.

  6. Wow. crud, a perfect time for my car not to work. I didn't think anything would come to Arkansas.

Hey Gordon, feel free to come to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock any time! I work in the Virtual Reality Center, this sort of thing is perfect for that lab. We host 3DS Max workshops for The Episcopal Collegiate School for a week during the summer.
