Thai government releases free Blender/GIMP ebook

blender-coverA subsidiary of the Thai government has released two *very* extensive ebooks on Blender and the GIMP.

SIPA (an organization of Royal Thai Government to promote software development industry in Thailand) made a release of Blender and GIMP books. These are updates of the previously released books to catch up with newer versions of the softwares. The Blender one was covering a very introduction to the program, basic modeling, basic SLR and basic animation in its almost 300 pages. While its contents didn’t cover much of the advance subjects in 3D computer graphics, it is still a very good resource for beginners and especially for others to integrate Blender into their pipelines.

    1. And some decent reactions to the Factbot I got from #blender freenode

justa: ….thai..government ?,,,,sponsoring a book about digital image composition/manipulation ?..
justa: there must be a chapter regarding the use of feet in scenes with the king of thailand in them ?
monty_hall: I thought Thai was known for kick boxing and exotic sex tourism. – graphics… hmmm. I learned something new today.

How nice! Sure we are better than that :)

    2. HA HA HA……. Yes everyone Thai people do know graphics and some of them are really good.

But unfortunately, this is only book about blender in Thai language which is full of (too) basic stuff! I’m really surprised that no one write a better book(than This) about blender since we have many expert blender users here in Thailand.

However, I hope you all not recognize Thailand as country that everyone ride elephant to work ( and to school ) Ha Ha Ha!!!

PS. My english is not good, it may have some mistake, sorry about that. – -*

    3. @THBlender – Don’t worry, most native English speakers don’t speak it that well. :D

That’s fascinating, wish our government would do something similar but I doubt they would if they could. Oh well. I’ll just have to pay money at the Blender store.

    4. I am going to Thailand next year to get my teeth all fixed. They have brilliant dentists and they are cheaper than in Europe.

Thailand is full of brilliant artists.

I am glad to see the Thai goverment giving out a book like this free to its citizens. That will increae the number of Blender users.

    5. Gracias.. muchas gracias :)
      thx ……

Seriously, the American government should take a hint. :-D Obama could write one of these! LOL.

@TH Blender – my thoughts about Thailand have received a major boost. Let’s just say we went from elephant to sweet techno government in 2.6 seconds :-D
