I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Hi!

You could add a small box on Blendernation.com with the last twits. It could be just under the "Visit the Community Store » "

Hm, I'm following you guys on twitter. And I beg to differ with all of you who who dislike titter. I can come in very handy sometimes.

  3. Amazed to hear the hate of Twitter on a 'community' related site. New communities and social portals are turning up everywhere and you always have a choice to join them. I guess people are always afraid of what they do not understand.

  4. ccherrrett~ Please enlighten me as to the reason why Blendernation joining Twitter will be to the detriment of how Blendernation functions as a news portal for the Blender Community.

  5. Laxy, I don't hate Twitter, I just think it has no place in my world :)

If I were the owner of Twitter, I'd seriously consider to rename it "BrainFart".

  6. I think the reason there's so much misunderstanding about twitter, is that you really need to immerse yourself in it for a while to actually understand it. It's not really something you can look from the outside and really 'get it'. That's how I see it anyway :)

  7. Cool will add to my follow i guess :)
Twitter is just another phase in new ways of communicating to people over the net, but i think they have the right angle, its not too addictive unlike most social networking sites lately have become...

  8. It cracks me up a little that all these people that think Twitter is such a waste of time and the downfall of proper communication, take the time to post(tweet) on here that they hate twitter.

  9. It's always better if people have a strong opinion about something than no opinion at all :) Anyway, we already used Twitter for one issue: fixing the 'Greetbox' that I'm currently running as an experiment. Communication was fast.

  10. Twitter is great for keeping up with some things. You just need to pick the right people to follow. Glad to see BlenderNation is joining in.
