BlenderNation sold to Windows Test & Fun Magazine

bn-wtfAfter three months of negotiations, I’m proud to announce that I’ve sold BlenderNation to the influential Windows Test & Fun Magazine. WTF, with a staff of 25 full-time editors are planning to put their full weight behind the biggest Blender news site. Read on for more details.

The Blender community has proven to be one of the most active and professional graphics communities on the web, and we’ve been seeking ways to connect to it for a long time. This deal with BlenderNation is our way in!

The size of WTF ensures the continued flow of Blender news on BlenderNation. Our expertise on the Windows platform will guarantee high-quality articles for the entire community in the future.

We plan to expand on the current content offering by quickly launching new services such as Windows Live sign-in, paid premium content and an on-line models/materials library, fully integrated into Blender. Stay tuned for more information!

Running BlenderNation became more and more of a burden to me personally as I had to juggle it together with running my own company and my now much busier family life. Financial details cannot be disclosed, but let’s suffice to say that I’ll be living *very* comfortably from now on :)

This also means that the entire team of editors including myself will be stepping back effective today. We’re confident that you’re all in good hands though.

      Commenting here now i have made a user gets a bit annoying: i make the comment, submit, then i get to a new page where it’s saying there is someone else that made comments with this nickname and i need to log in or something… then i go log in.. and comment wasn’t even posted. Perhaps i should look around in there for a ‘delete account’ setting or something heh

We’re open source and will not pay, Wincrap Live has nothing to do with Blender or open source, premium doesn’t belong in open source, and Linux and Mac are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than Wincrap.(Which is why Wincrap got infected by Conficker today. Haha! Lucky for us Linux users!)
