Suite Noire by Matray

Matray , who created “Meischeid” has created a new animation. Suite Noire, an opening for  French TV show, that unfortunately,  was never aired because the client didn’t think it was appropriate.

“I’ve used blender recently to make a starting title for a french tv show.  Everything except the text, the inks, and the 16 mm look is straight from blender.”

This was a research project for a starting title of a french TV show.

It’s too bad it won’t get aired. It looked interesting.

    very nice visuals. great idea.

First and foremost, the audio selection for both of the videos were great. I’d like to know what the song titles are so I can find them on cduniverse.

Secondly, that show intro looked great. AND it was done in Blender. It looks so professionally done, it’s just amazing. I like the exploded view of the machines in the second video. The music meshed particularly well with it.

Wow… this is so artistic. I especially like the first animation. It is incredible and feels so natural that nobody will ever think that it is CG. The insect movement seems very natural.

And the Petroline 2.0 teaser’s music is from Bugge Wesseltoft and Sidsel Endresen’s “Out here. In there”

    Long live France!!!

I love it! Reminds me a bit of an intro to a show here in Australia (slightly). Very nice mood/feel/look. Will make for a neat reel addition if nothing else.

Both videos interesting… neat explosion effect on the second one, I especially like the lightning which helps bring a contemplative interest to the film.

The first video: Wow, yes, VERY good work. The end where the scorpion rushes at the camera isn’t as realistic-looking, but the rest is quite nice.

Good job! Oh, and I like your “Meischeid” video as well! Quite intuitive to try that (and with enjoyable music! All the music selections for these videos were good!)

I am sorry that your video, “suite noire,” was not accepted for the TV show intro… it was too good for it. :)

that is, your animation was too good for the TV show. I don’t know that it is, it’s just a thought…

  • banor

what are all the programs you used to make this video? What was your time schedule? What TV show?

    Thanks!
    Best wishes,

    Beautiful work. Really.

Congratulations, and that’s sad it wasn’t approved. But clients often do these kind of things to us.

Keep on the great work. :)

so awesome!, I wish the show came out

  • Squiggly_P

holy mother of god that was amazing! How the hell could they have turned that down!? That’s one of the coolest show intros I’ve seen in my freaking life!

  • redbyte

To the artist: Please tell me this wasn’t Spec work… I really hope you took some payment for this because you deserve it. And if it was spec work?

I agree with Squiggly_P. I did not expect a production of that quality! Well done to everyone involved.

Wow that is a great intro. I’m reminded of the intro for Dexter.

    great job.
