Fresh Blender News, Every Day
Allan Brito, one of BlenderNation writers and professor at Mauricio de Nassau(in Brazil), has squeezed in a bit of time to teach Blender users how to complete great architectural works through his site.
If you're not always online, it can be kind of awkward having to rely on the Blender Wiki documentation (I guess ;-). Next time you're out hiking, painting the roof or are just without a broadband connection, make sure you have your copy of Marco Ardito's Blender Wiki PDF with you!

"Help the Boros reclaim their precious artefact and solve the mystery of the Starlight Isles. You will face unique and challenging puzzles that will require all your logic and reasoning skills; often there is not just one solution to the problem you face."
Here's the introduction of one of the most original Blender games I've seen so far. It was created by a team of only five people during the high-profile British 'Dare to be Digital' contest.
We talked to Graham Ranson to find out how he and his team used Blender.

Thanks to the efforts of the NURBS fans on Blenderartists interest in libNurbana in Blender has been revived. I have been working away slowly on this project since the GSoC (3 years ago!?), but I simply do not have enough time to progress the project in a timely manner. The last time I got a significant amount of work done was during my summer holidays last year, where I refactored the entire project into a nicer architecture, without a chunk of time to work on it uninterrupted I find I cannot progress very quickly.

The Blender Foundation recently acquired two new Sun Microsystem servers, and their hosting provider XS4ALL generously decided to sponsor additional rack space. So, last Friday Marco and Arnd (justa on the #blendercoders IRC channel) moved all the old+new stuff to its new home. Lots of lights and cables. I like.

The Mac Gamer just published a long interview with Chris Plush and Campbell Barton, "two long haired, clever fellows working on the development of the open source game Yo! Frankie". An interesting read with lots of background information on the project!

During last month's premiere of Yo Frankie! I was in for a bit of a surprise. Clearly I hadn't been paying enough attention, but about halfway down the project the decision was made to create two versions of the game: the Blender Game Engine Edition (BGE) and the CrystalSpace Edition (CSE).
