Fresh Blender News, Every Day
Recently, we posted about a Blender head modeling tutorial on cgarena. Well it looks like the author has completed the ear tutorial to accompany it.

No official announcements yet, but seems like Blender 2.47 RC1 is available to download. This is mostly a bug fix release, so don't expect to find new tools.

"I've been making this animation during the past 7 months in between my studies and work, and I seized the opportunity to use the animation for a short film competition in the Assembly 2008 demo party Assembly.org, held in Helsinki Finland every year.
JiriH is working on his "proof of concept" on how to make IK spine in Blender.

For the last seven months I've been freelancing for a startup called Shapeways. Our mission is simple: we will make 3D printing (or 'rapid prototyping') accessible for everyone. Just upload your model as STL, Collada or X3D and we can produce it for you in a number of different materials.
Three of us have a history with Blender and used to work for Not a Number, so there's a lot of Blender work going on here in the office. It's a tough job ;-)
We're still in private beta, but I'll be giving away 500 invitations (more about that below).
