At this point, we are thinking of targeting it towards intermediate users, but things can change.

Venue
This event will be held at the Fisheries Centre at UBC's Point Grey Campus.  It can be easily access with numberous transit route(B-line 99, 84), paid parking is also available.

Cost and Logistics
The event will be free of charge.  Due to the limited computers we have, attendees are welcomed to bring their own laptop computer for the event.  Wifi connection will be available.

Sounds like it could be good. I think it is best that it is an intermediate class, it would kinda be a waste if it was for beginners, as they might quit blender and it is only a 1 day course. Can't learn much in 1 day if you don't know what your doing. It would be kinda cool to hear what they talk about.

I love the idea of a free Blender workshop…."the first hit is free…."

Anyone interested in starting something like this in Australia?

I'm up for helping to organise something like this in Sydney or Brisbane.

So nice to hear about this…. its sort of in my neck of the woods, as Canada is a very BIG place, geographically-speaking… and only one time-zone away!

I'd love to have gone if there had been just a few more days' notice I live on Vancouver Island and am only a ferry ride (or quick plane flight) away, but I've got my weekend already planned.

Darn. I used to live in Vancouver but now am in Alabama. Any Birmingham users want to get together sometime?

It's always a bit of a dilemma when to post these events - if we do it too long in advance, people will forget about them. I figured four days was fair enough..

Its close. Only a time zone (1162 km) away! For Canada, thats pretty close. Still, I won't be able to make it. Sounds interesting though.
