Head modeling tutorial

Ashish recently emailed us to point out a great step by step head modeling tutorial, by Carlos R. Bisquertt, done completely in Blender. It has been published by CGarena and can be found here.

The tutorial covers everything except modeling the ear. Carlos states he will create a separate tutorial on modeling the ear for the head. If you'd like to give the ear a go now, Jonathan Williamson posted a great ear modeling video at Blenderartists that might work well to get you started. Find the video in the first post here.

Well the Ears can be seperate to help with different ear types(Vulcan/Romulan) to name some.

Wow, that was a lot of work to put together, Thanks! I really appreciate the detailed steps. I have looked through it quickly and hope to get back to it soon and work through it completely. I eagerly await the next one on the ears.

Very useful, I find it better to have the still images than a video, so I can more easily reference each frame at my own pace. I also learned a lot of new words, like nasolabial sulcus.

Well, I finished the tutorial and modeled a head, that I have modeled before. It is much nicer and fewer vertices. Thanks again for taking the time to create this very detailed tutorial. It was easy to understand and even though I got lost a few times I was able to go back and find where I had gone astray. This was the easiest to follow tutorials I have ever read dealing with modeling a head. I hope you do more tutorials in the future.

    Hi guys,

I'm really glad that you liked the tutorial :) . BTW, You can follow the same guidelines to model humanoid characters, just tweak the method to fit your particular needs:

An extremely useful and user-friendly tutorial, one I easily adapted to make a squirrel head. Good job.
