Battelle Game Engine
Battelle game engine is an open source project made on Blender 2.45 by Guillaume Coeur and Bertrand Lapraz in order to complete their bachelor degrees at the University of Geneva (CH). This project is supervized by Laurent Moccozet, teacher and researcher at the University. It uses “Bullet” physic engine (which is the blender game engine) for direct rendering.
“I am working on a project for my Bachelor degree at the university. It’s one of our university’s building in Blender Game engine. The project has to be finished in August (so i will put the .blend files around this date.)”

The bullet engine can be used to render? or to be more exact: Is it used to render in the Blender GE?
I thought it was simply the physics simulation part [1] of the game engine, and not the whole engine.

To be honest, it doesn’t look like they are building a new game engine at all. I think they are just modelling the building and want to create some interactivity with it. They don’t seem to have much of a clue about blender too, as they think that bullet is the bge.
Mathias: Yes, they are modelling a part of their university for informal purposes and make them accessable with the BGE (which uses bullet).
Since I didn’t mention that in my previous post: I thing it’s a pretty cool project. And being inexperienced is not a show stopper for most creative projects – a project like this will only benefit all participants in the long run ;)

So Battelle Game Engine is just the name of the project and actually not a game engine…
Bullet is a physics engine and not more, it can’t do any rendering.
And Bullet is just part of the BlenderGE, not the BlenderGE itself.
Misleading title and wrong information in this post…
From what I gather on their site, the “engine” uses line drawings of buildings to draw them into 3d. That’s a wild guess as the site’s text is a little had to understand.
I would be interested in seeing exactly what their engine is supposed to be handling… written in a bulleted point blank, comprehensive fashion.
Beyond that, a step by step guide as to how it is used or useful would also be extremely enlightening.

I am sorry for the missunderstood about the titlte “Battelle game engine”. It is NOT a new game engine,
We are just using Bullet, not more.. I choose this name because i didn’t have more idea…
I am going to update the mistakes i wrote about bullet… I wiil search what’s the 3d direct rendering engine in blender 2.45…

I recognize those stairs(tiresome to climb them) and the big ground floor, but is it really Uni-Dufour(which has the computer science section)? The entrance isn’t like that. It’s more like Uni-Mail (even if I went in this building only one time).
It’s not uni Mail nor uni Dufour.
The computrer science section is now at Battelle (Carouge).

The blender game engine is called Ketsji (commonly refered to as GameBlender), it uses the Open Graphics Library (Open GL) as the basis for rendering because Open GL is cross platform. Bullet is the physics library used to calculate the all physics in Ketsji. It looks like this project is an architectural walkthrough of the university building that these students take classes in. I hope this helps clear up some confusion.
