Virtual Tour of Sao Paulo

A company from Brazil called Gamion, just used Blender to produce a virtual tour of a few blocks from Sao Paulo.

Here is a description of the project by Rodrigo Queiroz, from Gamion:

Our company has finished a 3D Tour at Sao Paulo’ center – Brazil, exposing the
attractions of “Virada Cultural”, the biggest party sponsor by Sao Paulo’s
major, 24 hours of pure culture.

We used Blender to model, animate and render all.

      What would be the purpose of doing photorealistic of a place that exists and can simply be videotaped?

      @The Clean Spoon : probably because you would need to rent a ‘copter to videotape that… Plus you are free to go everywhere you need to have a look at… Go high in the sky, and zoom down to the traffic in the streets. Try to explain that to your ‘copter pilot… :)

      Anyway, it’s always nice to see such projects. It reminds us that 3D is not always about exotic girls and funny bunnies with particles fur frolicking in particle grass.

      All these projects featured on Blendernation proves that Blender do things you need to be done. And it does them well and professionally.

      Doing this photorealistically would probably use too much resources for a simple demonstration.

      Nice ,
      i try before do something like this but …
      i never really give a try with blender for build something .
      Using only for small things .

      time to time and i dont care about it no more or anything .
      i guess i hate people too much for focus on myself .well….

      I just don’t know yet what to build with Blender ,
      but iam more for a try with game engine and programming .
      I dont know if i made some drawing ,build something at Blender ,
      what about my Delphi programming ,phyton?
      i want to learn how to create some music ,how can i made my delphi better?
      wow ,theres a few time i dont drawing anyting ,what ?
      webpages?flash?delphi?phyton?c++?blender?drawings?
      animation?textures?materials?politics?money?
      i go sleep ,later i try something …
      damm ,again im not focus ,and start all over again .
