Thanks.   I noticed some fuzzy shadows in the vid, but it was too small for me to see if he was just moving the lamp and there was some obscurity, or if it were a control he was adjusting. 

This is so bad.  I'm really happy with my setup right now, but I guess I'll check out the build if it's there, see if I can't make things happen.

I'm gonna say yes and yes, based on the video. When the lamp is closer to the models, the shadows definitely look soft. And seeing as those shadows were being displayed in object mode (textured view?), I assume that they'll at least approximate shadows in your render.</description>
