1700 DVDS of Big Buck Bunny just shipped

We just shipped about 1700 dvds to our loyal investors in the Blender community. People in Europe can expect it in their mailboxes this week, Dutchies this Friday, but outside of EU probably next week.
The last weekend of may we'll do the official web launch of the film. Many mirrors have been collected already - which will be needed for the expected attention - so we'll make that weekend a great on line release party! Until then everyone can enjoy their own premiere at their home cinemas. Thanks! :)

Now that 2.46 is officially released, the pain of waiting has been lessened. Can't wait for arrival in a few weeks.

Did not yet had the change to try 2.46 out, but can't wait till I'll have BBB this week. I could restrain myself to visit the Blender Foundation this afternoon to pick one up, but it was hard. ;-)

It arrived!!! The 1080 avi on the second dvd is so crisp, its fantastic! Its a huge contrast to the dvd video, the new particle system really paid off!
I just got mine in the post today and I've been geeking out all day! My daughters loved it (16 months and 3 years) - especially the 3 year old who laughed out loud all the way through.
The film is, of course, funny and furry.
The DVD is a great product for so many more reasons though:
- Great "making of"
- Pixar-style bloopers
- (One I've never seen before) Commentary from multiple creative perspectives - animation, technical etc. GENIUS Hollywood take note. The director's view is of general interest, but those interested in learning about lightingwill only be interested in the lighting director's perspective.
- Another great innovation - 4 view of the film (storyboard, Blender POV, Final render…) BRILLIANT!
- HD version for PC playback.
- THE FULL SOURCE!
- And last, but not least for the fuzzy feeling - my name in the credits for buying the DVD in advance!
Of course, Blender itself has also been improved as a direct result of this project.

These animals are so funny. I liked the movie a lot. I have watched it 3 times on my computer, 6 times on my own TV, and shown it to the family on my parents TV set…
