I downloaded RC4, and it's insanely slow compared to the latest release, 2.45. I didn't try RC3 or anything else before RC4, so I can't really confirm the speed difference, but I suggest waiting for a final build or something.

Looks good so far. I tried a model with a little over 212000 polygons on my OS X system with 10.4.11 and no problems as far as I took it. I admit I don't have the nerve to install for work, as I am coming up to finishing an important model, but I will have a play over the weekend.

Even with over 212000 polygons I tried both 2.45 and the 2.46 RC3, and didn't notice any great speed differences when handling modelling. I'll try some timed rendering test over the weekend and compare the speeds.

@marcus and drax
ive tried using it for strictly modeling and help with normals, and issues. For example a 'student' (really a friend but iam teaching four people about blender) was workin on a car model and he was having a 'double face' issue and his faces were all over the place so while talking to him i showed him in real time which points would be connected best. i hope in the future they will add modifers and etc only issues i have come across is if the clients 'undo' it will loose the position and state of the object and will crash or will need to relaod the object (we were using a 24k tri model)
