New Japanese Blender Book: 'Hajimete no Blender'

Satoshi Yamasaki (yamyam) is the operator of the Japanese blender.jp community site. His Blender book for beginners was published last month.

Satoshi writes:

I wrote a Japanese Blender book called 「はじめてのBlender」("Hajimete no Blender"). It was published by Kogakusha last month.

This book basically made for beginners. It explains basics of 3DCG, such as lighting, materials and 3D data structures, and Blender's interfaces. Also It include a tutorial which shows a workflow for making a snow-man scene step-by-step.

For experienced, it explains new blender features. Maybe some of people will remember basic topics such as data links, duplicates, data browsing will be reminder for such people.

A5, 416 pages, some of images made by Japanese users included. A script which helps to input unicode texts included too.

    おめでとうございます!どこで売れるの?全国?ビックカメラ?ふつうの本屋さん?私は今、福岡に住んでいるから九州のほうに来るかな?

     I would like to know where you are selling this as I am in the Fukuoka region and was wondering whether or not I could get a copy here.

    @grafixsuz :

    日本全国の本屋(=普通の本屋さん)でこの本を買う、または注文することができます。
    福岡に住んでいるのですか?
    なら、博多のような大きい街のほうがこの本を見つけやすいかもしれません。

    You can get or order the copy in the bookstore in japan.
    Are you live in Fukuoka?
    in the big city , like Hakata , you might be able to find it more easily.

    This is a very nice, concise book for beginners. I'm using it for my first year seminar students and I think it's really just right. Grafixsuz, as manda says, it's widely available. Try any big bookstore with a decent selection of graphics books and they will probably have it in stock. Alternately there's always amazon.co.jp.

    @manda:実は、博多に住んでいます。でも、また見つかてない。しょうがないね!amazonに注文します。ありがとうございます。。

    @tony: Actually I check bookshops here all the time for art related stuff, but I haven't come across this one yet. My reason being I have some young friends (Junior high school students) who I introduced blender to, but they can't get their heads around it at the moment. So this book would seem to be a good choice for them.

    I will check amazon, as it would seem to be the easiest way to find it. Thanks Tony and Manda!

    Thank you for comments!
    And thank you Bart for adding some of materials for this article. :-)

    mandaさん:
    Congratulations for the 1st comment. ;-)

    ありがとうございます。
    Sorry for inconvenience…I think ordering to amazon (or kogakusha, etc)is better than walking around to find this book. I don't think copies of the book are put at many bookstores.

    Tonyさん:
    Thank you. I'm glad that my book is used for your seminar… I'm proud it!

    二郎さん:
    ありがとうございます。おたがいがんばってすごい作品をつくりましょう!

    Satoshi congatulations with your book, good to see that japan, the land with great graphic artists, can now enjoy free blender too.

    Japan seems to produce a lot of talented 3D artists, so a good introduction to Blender for them has to be a good thing. I look forward to seeing some more amazing work resulting from some of the buyers of this book.
