"In Dire Need" - Camera Mapping Breakdown

Blender Artist Colin Levy participates in the PSAId contest with an short video. He has also published a video explaining how he made it - focusing on the camera mapping.

"PSAid is a public service announcement (PSA) contest for U.S.-based college and university students. PSAid seeks entries of broadcast and print PSAs which explain the importance of appropriate international disaster relief and build support for international disaster relief work done by well-established, U.S.-based international disaster relief organizations."

Colin writes:

A few weeks ago I made a 30-second PSA for a national contest focused on
disaster relief. Now, it looks like I'm one of only five finalists in the
country!

I just put together a brief overview of the visual effects process involved in
the creation of the short. I used matte paintings and camera projection to
replace the environment in the big reveal shot at the end. It was pretty
challenging, and took me over a week to complete! Of course I used Blender for
everything 3D:

If you'd like more information about camera tracking or camera mapping, I've
got some old tutorials on my site that may still interest you.

I don't like voting for something just because Blender is used in it, but after watching all 5 finalists I voted for it simply because I thought it was the best of them all. Great job Colin!
