Peach have just announced the premiere of Big Buck Bunny: Thursday the 10th of April in Studio/K in Amsterdam. It looks like it's gonna be a fantasic evening - not only will you get to see BBB on the big screen, there will also a party with DJ afterwards, all sponsored by Creative Commons Netherlands!
The evening (screening+party) is free to attend for everyone; if you want the VIP treatment (first screening, champagne, a meal and hugs from the entire team or, well, at least from Nathan) you can get a VIP ticket from the Blender e-shop for €30.
Other cool news is that with the help of Filmmore, BBB will be transfered to three copies of 35mm film including digital audio.

The pantograph was a special tool invented in the 1600's to copy diagrams. Today, with the advent of tools such as CAD, computer-based tools have become the norm for designing and drafting. But where does Blender fit into this? Simple. Blender user rocketship has created a new plugin renderer called PantoGraph which can render your models not to a typical image file, but as Scalable Vector Graphics.

Not sure of what this is good for? Imagine that you have a bitmap logo applied to, say, that cool wine bottle you just finished. But now you had this great idea of making an animation where the camera zooms out from a particular detail of the logo until the whole bottle is framed.
Well… if you haven't made an insanely huge bitmap for the logo, the results on that zooming won't be as good as you though of. This is where this plugin could be very handy.
