I am working in KL doing closed source to open source migration for a major local broadcast corporation. We are integrating Blender into our Maya pipeline and its good news that your introduction of Blender to schools would increase peoples' knowledge on and about the software. Unlike Art Institutes, Universities are notorious for churning out software operators instead of artists. Let them "use" the software. By the way, there are great tuts from TUFTS - let the students do them by themself.
