CG Channel have published part of their training DVD 'CG Pack Part 1': Female Walk Cycle.
It's a whopping 30 minutes of high-quality content in which Jonathan Abenhaim will transform the Sam Fisher (Splintercell) walkcycle into a female walkcycle. Even though its' done using Max all the techniques are applicable to Blender as well.
Okay, it's an *old* link (2004!) but it's so cool I just have to share it with you ;-)

Enjoy and oh, and maybe someone can mirror that file before we fry their servers?

thx for the head up , ure the man, bart :)
Wow! haven't watched it yet, but I was able to sustain about 1 MB/sec download rate...I must be one of the first few!!. I've saved it to my host for mirroring, but I'll transfer at around a tenth or less of the speed their servers are capable of right now...so don't hit me unless the other is dying!!

I remember watching this a while back, good stuff!

There should be a biped system in Blender. It speeds workflow a lot. And you don't have to do basic steps again and again and...
Aka, just build one, then reuse it. It's not that hard. And usually no 2 skeletons are the same. As an animator, different characters require different rigs/controls.
Just build a biped rig and save it as a .blend. Then use blenders append feature to add it to any future scenes ;)
true, please no biped system.... please no... I'd prefer to manually build a "template", and go from there if I need to. Much, much cleaner than that awfull biped system from Max. If you need to speed things up, I wonder, do you use the shortcuts for constraints and such?
kinda nasty that he has to tweak the feet everytime he changes the hip animation...
so what do you guys think of the blender underground tutorials? i just started blender....my frist animation program ever....need some good basic training i like them....know of any other good ones?
WTH?! Where's the vid?
Hello!
Can someone reupload this file again?
I know it's very old but I remember it was very awesome.
Thank you for your help.
