Feathers McGraw's Dancing Hair

We always try to find really cool Blender outwork for you and the other gazillion BlenderNation readers out there. But yesterday, I ran into dodgydavec's 'Feathers McGraw's Dancing Hair'. It's an animation gone very wrong and I couldn't stop laughing out loud when I saw it!

Dave writes:

Playing about with the development version of Blender which has a nice new partical hair system. So, I added some nice new partical hair to my nice new penguin model. And it went, well, a little bit wrong.

I applaud dodgydavec for posting his blooper on YouTube. I'm curious - what's YOUR best/worst Blender blooper?

@Mason, Dread Knight - please read the post, this isn't meant as a sample of shining Blender art but rather a call for bloopers. Remember the Shrek extras with the exploding Donkey hair? That kind of thing.

Oh yeah, it immediately reminded me of the shrek extras, haha!
Too bad I haven't saved any of those render surprises.
Displacement maps are my personal favorite so far, I often get landscapes with really sharp spikes or other strange deformations…

:D Always nice to see the struggle of the better animators. Keeps my spirit high in times where i can't just get it right.

LOTR also has a blooper section where Gollem animations go wrong.

hehe we have a lot of that kind of stuff going on every day in Plumiferos, some of them were posted in the Oops Blog, (wich reminds me that it isn't updated since more than a year now)

Of all the things to end up on blendernation for! Hahaha. Thanks, Bart :D I hope we get to see lots of bloopers here. Maybe I should have post Feathers with a flipper in a power socket. I could-a gotten away with it too. I it wasn't for those meddling kids.

My mistake was trying to render something wayyyyyyyy too memory hungry which ended up having to close it through task manager…

reminds me of some of the cuts from Shrek - theres some bloopers on how they made the hair for the donkey - nice touch, it doesn't always need to be serious here on BN :)
