Compositing Tutorial for an Electron Microscope effect

comp.jpgOlaf Arnold has created a compositing tutorial demonstrating how he achieved an electron microscope effect, in Blender, for an image rendered in Kerkythea.

Olaf has posted the models, node editor and Kerkythea material file. He writes:

1.) microCOSMOS2.blend: all the models are included into this file.
2.) microCOSMOS2.composite.blend: the composite node editor setup with all images included.
3.) microCOSM_Emit_example.xml: an Example file of the SEM Material, open and render it with Kerkythea 2007

      i have uploaded the files to reproduce this Effect to my Website.
      It is a rar compressed file with the following files in it:

      Hello Dalai Felinto,

      the final PNG will be generated, if you change something in the
      node editor or another simple solution: Press the button “Use Nodes”
      twice and the final Render (Backdrop) will be generated…

      You were very clear in your explaination of the use of nodes. I have had a difficult time understanding other tutorials about nodes, but this was very clear. I am going to try it.

      Nice tutorial, sometimes it would have been nice to have more comments on what you are doing and why.

      The links on Blenderuniverse.de react very slowly, the Car Tire Tut Old Version page 2 is not working and the new one isn’t ready
      plus
      the Chrome Videotutorial link doens’t work.
      Would be nice to have that fixed and to have a Videotut on the Tire Tut.

      Excellent Olaf! When I’m looking this video tutorial i found answer for my problem – how to create proper texture on microbial objects! Im’m also using a lot of microworld,so thank you very, very much for inspiring us! Model is excellent. Im interseting r u doing this project for yourself or some University? Thanks again.

      good tutorial!
      i have a question though, i can’t figure out how to move the backdrop picture while im working, so i can only view the bottom half of my picture. In the tutorial at appears as if you are using middle mouse button, but that does not work for me. Is that what im supposed to be pressing?

      Very cool tutorial! I have one tip for you and for the rest of people watching: in the tutorial it takes more then 30 seconds to delete the two initial nodes. One could do it in a second by simply shift selecting both objects and hitting DEL. Apart from gaining time, by using this method there is another huge advantage: there is no longer necessary to move, arrange, rearrange, size and resize the compose node before deleting it.
