Interactive Art: Bikatrope
Vince McKelvie has created an interactive art installation in which riding a bike drives an animation.
Another Free Rig
Earlier this year, in the midst of the free rigs that were being released to the Blender community, we got this clever little gem submitted to us by Ruben Lopez. It’s a very simple lower-body rig, but the controls for it are quite nice and it’s an excellent resource, especially for Spanish-speaking Blender users.
December 14th – Free Workshop in Groebenzell, Germany
Arondix Animations is preparing a series of Blender workshops in Groebenzell, Germany. The first one is on on Friday, December 14th. You may remember Arondix from their short ‘Flupps’ which we covered six months ago.

Peach is delivering new Blender functionality almost every week, it seems! There’s information on the new particle system on blender.org.
CG Channel/cmiVFX Tutorial .blend File Released!
This is a follow-up to the article we posted a few days ago about a free Blender compositing tutorial available through an agreement between CG Channel and cmiVFX. The .blend file for that tutorial has been released! The demand for that tutorial has been the highest of any other tutorial on cmiVFX’s on-demand player.
Music Video: ‘Big Brother’
It’s Sunday night, the baby is asleep and I’m the only one awake in the house. Life is good and I found myself enjoying this relaxing music video that Andrej Cimerman created (with Blender, of course) for a band called Trilas. Even though I’m not sure the video really matches the music, I enjoyed the 50′s style animation and the music.
Blender.org Gallery November Update
The gallery at blender.org has been updated for November. There are lot of great entries this month, particularly character designs. Go check it out and decide which ones you like best!

BlenderNation Hacked, Back
Last night we started receiving reports of spam links appearing under each page on BlenderNation. Investigation showed that a number of files had been compromised, probably because of our WordPress installation being out of date. As I was in bad need of some sleep, my ISP and I decided to shut down the site for the night, and fix things in the morning.
