Every so often someone will appear on BlenderArtists with a plan to make a great CG movie. All they need is lots of volunteers to do the work. We get quite a few requests for writing about these initiatives on this site, too. AndyD has published an article reviewing some of the problems of this approach, while giving a few helpful pointers to succeed.
You might know Mathias Pedersen from his "Starry Night" image that was used as the Blender 2.43 splash screen. He also
is one of the authors of the "the Essential Blender" book recently out. It is quite an accomplishment for someone that is 16 years old. I see great promise in Mathias, as he comes off as being a very focused and determined person, who would be an asset on any creative team.
After spotting Blender in the Microsoft.com Knowledgebase and finding Elephants Dream available for download from Microsoft.com, we have now received a Blender sighting in the 'Microsoft Expression Blend Bible' :)
