Bart: Yes, ideas always have potential. And who knows what has stopped this project from going ahead -- I won't complain :-) But, that's precisely why I tend to never announce anything or make big plans beforehand - I KNOW life will get in between :)

Hrm... almost 4 months later, and the web site went from an empty template with a broken link to "404 not found". The Blender community, I'm sure, is proud of Dualbo and the success of Monster Management so far ;)

Looks pretty cool to me :-)

@DGE:
From the phrase "conversational documentary shorts", I assumed that the dialogue was a real-life interview, in the same vein as Creature Comforts. Thus, the fact that he sounds like Joe Average is probably because he is, well, Joe Average :-) I don't think electronically modifying the voice would fit with the idea of the show.

It looks like... a nice start, but too short to tell if the concept and humour will be maintainable. Weekly? Sounds ambitious. The sound is acceptable, the animation isn't real bad, but could use work. E.g. the expression & sync is good but he bobs and twitches in a random way... but only while talking. And the muzzle/cheek creases are so extreme they're distracting, to me at least. Extremely long title & credits.

The worst complaint I have at this point is a common trend to skimp on voice casting or post-production. The issue is that of using completely "normal", average human voices for non-humans. The best animation and film-making has always matched the body and voice to make it BELIEVABLE. This guy sounds like Joe Average, even though he looks reptilean. Changing just the body isn't enough. You can easily electronically modify the voice. An ordinary voice COMPLETELY suspends my belief.

He should be trying to act as if he's human and people buying it or pretending to, while viewer is convinced that he isn't. That's the real source of humour, I think. Alien body is not enough of a twist. Otherwise it's just a "me too": The Office in monster suits.

Some better textures would improve it a lot. Try a different skin material for a start...
