3D models library in Blender native format

Scopia`s ResourcesFinding models to use in our scenes created in Blender sometimes may be a bit difficult, since most 3D libraries use the 3ds file format. When we import these models in Blender, in most cases we have to work with triangular faces and some other artifacts. But now there is a very good model library called Scopia`s resources, which is a 3D models library with models available in the ".blend" file format, and with textures!

All models are organized into these categories:

  • Exteriors
  • Urban Furniture
  • Vegetation
  • Interior Furniture
  • Lamps
  • Bathrooms
  • Complements
  • Characters

Now there are about 50 models available to download, but according to the description on the site, new models will be uploaded every week. If you use Blender for architectural visualization, this is a very good resource. Visit the site here.

And there is one more thing; all files and models are under Creative Commons 3.0.

Just a suggestion: You might want to mention the specific license, which is CC "BY" — http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ — a very liberal commercial-friendly license.

Nice… but strange… getting Yafray problems (latest builds)
Other models, they start rendering and then Yafray seems to go astray.
Also, the tree models are transparent… just getting the shadows (maybe images are missing)

    Any ideas?

I have downloaded a building from the site and it has about 100 different materials! :o If I want to make it work with Indigo, it's gonna be a lot of work. Great site and great idea too. Nicely done. Off to work I go.

Very nicely done. The furniture is great, and the collection is very coherent - apart from the random three low-poly game characters tagged on at the end of the list for some reason :-).

    Thanks!

    hmm strange…

I just downloaded 2 bathroom examples and my Blender (2.44) crashes when I try to render the scene.

    Anyone else encounter this?

    Have you got YafRay installed?

    That was it!

Thanks a lot. I never did check the preferred render for the file.
