Game in progress using Blender
A project called Java Classic RPG is in development for creating a classic role playing game, using Java and Blender for 3D. Here is a description of the project, as showed in the development page:
“Developing a nice RPG framework in Java after finding out that we have a cool Java OpenGL engine. Creating a nice enchanting old-fashioned pen and paper & turn based game with a decent story / AI and a huge place to play.â€

Last week the CG Society has released their XXI CG Challenge, with a lot of interesting prizes. The subject for this contest is “Strange Behaviorâ€. This is an unusual theme, and will result in a lot of funny images and animations.
Update on Ohloh metrics for Blender
You all may remember the message about Ohloh beta from back in October 2006. Well, the people at Ohloh have worked hard to improve their site, and many new cool features have been implemented that makes it very nice to compare open source projects to each other. And the Ohloh metrics for Blender show steady growth and no signs of slowing down!
Compilation of the SoC project about GLSL Preview
A new compilation is available at graphicall.org, with a preview of the new GLSL visualization system. This is an ongoing development project supported by SoC 2007, and will be a great addition to Blender. But what`s this project about? The goal is to improve the display of materials in the 3D View.

Eoin Duffy is a graphic designer/animator studying for a degree in Graphic Design. He was approached by the Dublin band KOPEK in December 2006 to create a video for their single “Stop”. After 6 months of work Eoin completed the video.
